Privacy Policy

Effective October 2, 2026

Scout Elf GPT helps parents plan elf ideas for their children. This policy explains what information we collect, why, who helps us handle it, and the choices you have. The service is run by Scout Elf GPT ("we", "us").

In short: we collect what we need to build your family's ideas, we don't sell your information, and you can delete your account and its data at any time.

1. What we collect

Account details. Your email address and password (your password is stored in scrambled form by our sign-in provider), and your name if you add it.

Family details you enter. Your children's first names, ages, gender (optional), grade, interests, and highlights of the year, plus your elves' names and your setup choices (tone, time available, off-limits items, gift preference, reminders).

What you create. Ideas, calendar entries, supply lists, saved printables, feedback on ideas, and season recaps.

Photos. If you add a photo of supplies or a room, it is used only to generate ideas. We keep a short text description of what it shows, not the photo.

Reminders and sharing. Your reminder time and time zone, an email for a co-parent you invite, and the email address of anyone you gift a Season Pass to.

Payments. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see your full card number. We keep a record of what you bought and when.

Technical data. Basic error and performance information, and a scrambled (hashed) version of your network address that we keep for a short time to stop sign-up abuse.

Advertising and measurement data. On our public pages (home, about, pricing, sign-up, and log-in), Meta's pixel and Google's ads tag record which pages are viewed and set cookies so we can measure our ads. When you sign up, start checkout, or buy, we also send Meta that event, a scrambled (hashed) version of your email address, your browser and network details, and, for purchases, the amount.

2. Children's information

Scout Elf GPT is for parents. Children do not create accounts, and we do not knowingly collect information directly from children. Details about your children come from you, the parent, and are used only to personalize ideas and printables for your family.

We do not sell children's information or use it for advertising. Your children's names, ages, and other details are never sent to Meta or Google. The Meta pixel and Google ads tag do not run inside the app or on the setup questions where you enter family details. Please avoid entering anything more than you are comfortable with; first names are enough.

3. How we use information

  • To create your ideas, calendar, supply lists, and printables.
  • To take payments and provide the access you purchased.
  • To send nightly reminders and account emails you ask for.
  • To send product updates and offers. Signing up (including for the free quick ask) adds you to this list, and every email has an unsubscribe link.
  • To measure our advertising and show our ads to people likely to be interested.
  • To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.

4. Who helps us handle it

We share information only with service providers that help us run Scout Elf GPT:

  • Supabase (database and sign-in) and Vercel (hosting).
  • Anthropic (AI that writes ideas and printables). The details needed for a request, such as a child's first name, age, and interests, are sent to Anthropic to generate the result.
  • Stripe (payments and sales tax).
  • Resend (reminder and account emails) and Kit (product update emails).
  • Sentry (error monitoring) and Vercel Analytics (anonymous visit counts, such as which pages are viewed and where visitors came from, without advertising cookies).
  • Meta (advertising measurement). Meta's own privacy policy applies to its use of this data.

Some ideas link to Amazon. If you click a link, Amazon's own policies apply, and we may earn a commission as an Amazon Associate. We do not share your family details with Amazon.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users or service.

5. Cookies and similar tools

We use cookies that keep you signed in and remember small settings, such as a closed banner. While you fill in the setup questions, your answers are also saved in your browser on this device so you can pick up where you left off. They stay on your device and are removed when you finish. On our public pages we use Meta's advertising pixel and Google's ads tag, which set cookies to measure our ads. You can turn off ad personalization in your Facebook, Instagram or Google ad settings, or block or clear cookies in your browser. They do not run inside the signed-in app. Third parties you visit through links, such as Amazon, may set their own cookies.

6. How long we keep it, and deleting it

We keep your information while your account is open. You can delete your account any time in Account settings. Deleting it removes your children, ideas, calendar, printables, and settings.

We keep payment records for as long as tax and accounting laws require, and copies in backups until they cycle out. If you are on our email list, deleting your account also unsubscribes you, and you can unsubscribe from any email.

7. Your choices and rights

You can view and change your family details in the app, delete your account, and unsubscribe from emails. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, such as asking for a copy of your information or asking us to correct it. To make a request, email info@scoutelfgpt.com and we will respond within the time the law allows.

8. Security

We use reputable providers, encrypted connections, and limit access to your information. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

9. Changes and contact

We may update this policy and will post the new date at the top. If a change is significant, we will let you know. Contact us at info@scoutelfgpt.com or PO Box 345, Windsor, CO 80550.
